James M. Tanski James Tanski graduated from the U.S. Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science in 1968. He then served five years in the United States Army from 1968-73 and is a decorated veteran of the Viet Nam war. After resigning his commission as a Captain in the Army, Jim attended and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with a J.D. in 1976. He is admitted to the bars of the State of Connecticut, U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. Jim is a member of: the Hartford County Bar Association; Co-Chair, Legal-Medical Committee, 1999-2001; formerly of the Connecticut Bar Association; Member, Committee on Professional Ethics, 1982-83; Defense Research and Trial Lawyers Association; and Connecticut Defense Attorneys Association. Roland F. Young III Roland F. Young III is a graduate of Cornell University and a 1979 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. A frequent lecturer, Roland has conducted seminars throughout New England on professional liability, sexual harassment, director's and officer's liability and on limiting damages in personal injury actions. A Martindale Hubbel rated "AV" lawyer, Roland has also been elected to receive "Super Lawyer" recognition multiple times by his peers. Attorney Young is counsel to the firm, serving as a consultant on healthcare and medical legal issues for clients.
Albert G. Danker, Jr. Albert G. Danker, Jr. "Chip" is a 1977 graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and a 1992 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. Mr. Danker is also a 1981 graduate of the Yale School of Medicine Physician Associate program and practiced as a physician assistant for 12 years in emergency medicine before joining our firm in 1993. He handles professional liability matters, general liability matters and risk management issues and has represented individual health care providers in licensure actions. Mr. Danker regularly counsels health care providers on medical-legal issues, especially in the field of emergency medicine and has lectured to the Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians, the Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program, various EMS organizations and has assisted with medical-legal in-service training for various hospital and medical groups.
Amy F. Goodusky received her undergraduate degree from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts and obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1996. Between obtaining her undergraduate and law degrees, she spent 13 years as a paralegal specializing in insurance defense. Amy handles professional liability, general liability and workers' compensation matters and has taught paramedical and paralegal candidates.
Rebecca M. Harris Rebecca Harris graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Actuarial Science/Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in History. Rebecca joined O'Brien, Tanski & Young, LLP in 2001 as a paralegal while simultaneously pursuing her J.D. at the University of Connecticut School of Law. In 2003 she took a leave of absence to pursue a prestigious internship at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. Rebecca earned her J.D. from the University of Connecticut in 2004 and continued on at O'Brien, Tanski & Young, LLP as an associate attorney. She is admitted to the practice of law in Connecticut and before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Rebecca's areas of practice include medical malpractice, civil rights, and appellate practice.
Stephen V. Manning Stephen V. Manning began his career with a two-year clerkship with the Honorable T.F. Gilroy Daly, Chief U.S. District Judge for the District of Connecticut, followed by five years in large-firm private practice in the civil litigation arena. For 10 years, Steve was an Assistant U.S. Attorney prosecuting economic crime, including healthcare fraud cases. He prosecuted the first two federal health care fraud trials in Connecticut, resulting in convictions and substantial sentences for the offenders. He also conducted a bank fraud prosecution involving over 200 fraudulent transactions and approximately $32 million in fraudulently obtained mortgage loans, resulting in felony convictions of 12 individuals, including seven lawyers and three mortgage brokers. Since Steve began at OTY in early 2000, he has represented clients in a variety of matters, including those concerning health care fraud, Medicare fraud, tax fraud, insurance fraud, securities fraud, public corruption and computer copyright infringement. He also has significant appellate experience, having briefed and argued numerous appeals in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York, as well as in the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Court, and having spent three years as the Appellate Supervisor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Connecticut. Hilary Fisher Nelson Hilary Fisher Nelson, a 1977 honors graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, received a Master's Degree from Connecticut College in experimental psychology and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1986. Since 1986, Hilary has been an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Health Care at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She teaches Health Regulation to students in the Masters of Public Health program and also is involved in developing and presenting lectures for the OB/GYN residents as part of the Medicolegal Link Rounds series. Hilary’s practice focuses on medical and dental professional liability and administrative proceedings before the Department of Public Health.
Michael G. Rigg Michael G. Rigg received a Bachelor of Arts from Elizabethtown College in 1992 and a Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 1996. Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked for six years in a law firm handling personal injury plaintiffs and criminal defendants in both state and federal court. He has a very diverse professional and general liability practice along with being a member of the firm's appellate team.

Nancy P. Tyler Nancy P. Tyler has been in practice since 1980. After graduation from law school, Ms. Tyler was a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas J. Meskill, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Throughout her career in both Florida and Connecticut, she has specialized in the defense of medical malpractice claims and has worked with health care clients on administrative, regulatory and licensure matters.
Donna R. Zito received her undergraduate degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and her law degree in 1980 from the University of Connecticut School of Law with honors. In 1988, Donna spent a sabbatical year at the Yale Medical School. Following her graduation from law school, Donna worked as a law clerk for the judges of the Superior Court and Appellate Session, then served for a year as Deputy Director of the Law Clerk Program. Subsequently she served as Senior Attorney in the Malpractice Division of the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company, managing the litigation of medical malpractice claims involving brain damage. She has had a trial practice since 1984, focusing on the defense of medical malpractice and appellate matters.
